A well-known member of the Barrio Azteca gang, Alfonso Zamora, was arrested in El Paso on Monday for a parole violation. Zamora, 61, was taken into custody by a Deputy Constable on the 8800 block of Alameda.
During the arrest, the deputy confirmed Zamora’s outstanding warrant for a parole violation, which had been issued by the Austin Padron and Parole Board on March 20, 2025. At the time of his arrest, Zamora was on parole for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, specifically for over 1 gram but less than 4 grams.
According to the constable’s office, Zamora is a confirmed member of the Barrio Azteca prison gang. He was promptly detained and booked for the parole violation. Authorities are continuing their investigation as they ensure public safety.
Zamora’s arrest marks another step in local law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to curb gang-related activity in the region.
