MIAMI, FL — Alexander Márquez Hernández, also known as Alexander Hernández, is facing new felony charges in Florida after being accused of orchestrating a series of staged car accidents between 2022 and 2023.
The complaints were filed by county prosecutors between April 22 and 23 following an in-depth investigation by the Florida Office of Insurance Fraud.
During a recent bail hearing, Judge Glazer emphasized the serious nature of the allegations, stating that Hernández “appears to have planned and organized” the fraudulent crashes. The emergence of new evidence was pivotal in reopening several stalled cases.
State records show that Hernández is already serving a seven-year probation term following his 2023 conviction for human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution. His probation is set to last until 2032.
In addition to the new charges, authorities revealed that Hernández is also under a federal immigration detention order from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which could lead to deportation proceedings once the criminal case concludes.
He is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections.
