WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — Albert Sanders Jr. was arrested on charges of stabbing two women late Wednesday night in Warwick, Rhode Island.

At around 11:17 p.m., the Warwick Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 857 West Shore Road. Upon arrival, officers found two women inside the home suffering from multiple stab wounds. Both women were transported to the hospital with what police described as significant injuries. As of Thursday, their conditions were reported as stable.

Sanders, who lived in the home with the victims, fled the scene before police arrived. He was later located at the Curtis Arms Apartments in Providence, where he was taken into custody.

Sanders has been charged with two counts of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, one count of domestic assault by strangulation, one count of driving without consent of the owner, one count of violating a no-contact order, and one count of domestic disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned on Thursday at Kent County District Court, where he was ordered to be held without bail and to have no contact with the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
