Albany, NY — Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple Sr. announced the arrest of two Albany men on felony firearm possession charges following a narcotics complaint.
On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at approximately 10:51 AM, members of the Albany County Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort Unit responded to a report of narcotic sales in the area of Central Ave and Colvin Ave in Albany.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that 28-year-old Shareem Jackson and 53-year-old Daniel Jackson were in possession of a privately manufactured firearm, commonly known as a “Ghost Gun.” This firearm was loaded and equipped with a high-capacity magazine containing sixteen rounds of ammunition.
Shareem Jackson is facing multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a class C felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class D felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (a class A misdemeanor).
Daniel Jackson, due to previous criminal convictions, is also facing several charges. He is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a class C felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class D felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (a class A misdemeanor).
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on April 23, 2025.
