Albany, NY — Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced that Dayshon Miller, 34, and Nashala Turner, 36, both residents of Albany, have been arraigned in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred in September 2024.
The pair appeared before the Honorable William Little in Albany County Court on charges of Attempted Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Miller also faces an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, while Turner is charged with Hindering Prosecution.
The incident took place on the night of September 5, 2024, near First Street and Lexington Avenue in Albany. According to Albany Police, Miller allegedly fired at a male individual on the street, prompting a return of gunfire. A female bystander was struck in the crossfire but survived the incident.
Following an investigation, a search warrant was executed at the pair’s Washington Avenue apartment on October 30, 2024, where a loaded handgun was recovered.
Both Miller and Turner face the possibility of up to 25 years to life in state prison if convicted. Turner was released after posting a $40,000 bond, while Miller remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility with bail set at $150,000, a $250,000 bond, and a $350,000 partially secured bond.
The case is being prosecuted by the Major Crimes Unit.
