The Kulgam Police arrested a drug peddler, Akash Manzoor, and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics in a recent operation.
According to a statement from the Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, a team from Police Station Qaimoh intercepted Akash Manzoor at a checkpoint established on the Khudwani Bypass. Upon searching, officers recovered 1.547 kilograms of a charas-like substance and Rs 2000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Akash Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie and resident of Guree, Bijebhara, was taken into custody. An FIR (No. 38/2025) was registered under relevant sections of narcotics law, and further investigation is ongoing.
The police have urged the public to cooperate in efforts to eliminate drug trafficking and abuse from society.
