Akaash Ibra Jailed for Drugging and Rape in Cliviger

30-year-old sentenced to 15 years at Preston Crown Court

by Amelia Crawford

Akaash Ibra, 30, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drugging and raping a woman in an isolated Cliviger car park in June 2023. At the time of his arrest, Ibra, formerly from Paddock Lane, Halifax, was homeless.

Despite denying the charges, Ibra was found unanimously guilty following a trial earlier this year. On Tuesday, 16 December 2025, Preston Crown Court handed down the 15-year sentence.

The court ruled that Ibra is a “dangerous offender,” ordering 10 years of immediate custody with two-thirds required before parole eligibility. Additionally, he will serve a 5-year extended licence upon release, ensuring strict supervision and monitoring.
