Vadodara – The Crime Branch has arrested two notorious repeat offenders, Ajay Rajput and Rohan Rajmal, in connection with a temple theft that occurred on October 3 in the Karelibaug area.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the duo in the Harni area and recovered cash and coins worth Rs1,700. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing two donation boxes containing over Rs25,000 from the Ma Amba Temple.
CCTV footage from the temple premises played a key role in identifying and tracking the suspects.
Both individuals are history-sheeters with extensive criminal backgrounds.
Ajay Rajput has prior cases involving vehicle thefts, chain snatching, and burglaries.
Rohan Rajmal has over 14 registered offences, including loot, assault, and burglary.
The Crime Branch is further investigating whether the pair were involved in other recent thefts in the area.
