Nearly three months after a house burglary in Borigumma town, Koraput district police have arrested three accused and recovered Rs2.5 lakh.
The arrests follow a sustained investigation by Borigumma police after the burglary on the night of December 20, 2025. The accused have been identified as Ajay Nayak, Chandan Badhei, and M. Siba, all residents of the Jeypore area.
The burglary occurred at the residence of Rajeshwari Padhi on Nabarangpur Road. The miscreants broke open the house lock, ransacked rooms, and stole gold jewellery and cash worth around Rs2 lakh.
Following the incident, the homeowner lodged complaints with the Superintendent of Police (SP) and the District Collector, urging swift action.
Police recovered Rs2.5 lakh in cash during the arrests. Additionally, they seized an iron rod allegedly used in the break-in and a motorcycle reportedly used to flee the scene.
Sub-Inspector Dronacharya Bagh confirmed the arrests and recovery. Further investigations are ongoing to determine if the trio was involved in other similar thefts in the region.
