The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has cracked 11 cases of burglary and vehicle theft across Gujarat by arresting two key members of an inter-state criminal gang from Rajasthan.
The arrested suspects are Sagar alias Saglo Kantilal Gameti (25) and Mithun Arvind Ghumaji Gameti (24), both residents of Kanabai village in Udaipur district, Rajasthan. Following a thorough technical investigation, they were apprehended in Ahmedabad and interrogated at multiple police stations.
Sagar has a criminal record with 12 theft cases under Section 379 of the BNS across Himmatnagar, Ghatlodia, and other areas, along with involvement in high-profile burglary cases in Rajasthan, including a jeweller’s shop heist in Udaipur. Mithun is implicated in several murder and robbery cases in Rajasthan between 2018 and 2021.
The duo’s modus operandi involved breaking into locked houses at night using two-wheelers and four-wheelers, employing specialised tools to break window grills and steal valuables such as cash and jewellery.

Vastrapur (June 2024): Rs14.80 lakh stolen from a residence in Master Villa, Thaltej
Dabhoda (July 2024): TV and Rs33,000 cash stolen in Ranasan village
Chandkheda (December 2024): Cash worth Rs1.2 lakh stolen from three houses
Adalaj (December 2024): Cash and silver idols stolen near Narmada Canal
Sarkhej (September 2024): Antique pistol theft from a bungalow
Vastrapur (December 2024): Rs23,000 stolen in Satyam Bungalows
Kalol City (August 2023): Theft of gold and silver ornaments

Police continue their investigation to unravel more details about the gang’s activities and possible associates.
