The Narcotics Wing of Madhya Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old African woman, Linda, in Indore for allegedly carrying cocaine valued at nearly Rs 15 lakh.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Maheshchand Jain said the arrest took place in the Residency area following a tip-off from an informant. The accused had traveled by bus from Mumbai to Indore.
Authorities recovered over 30 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 15 lakh in the illegal narcotics market. Linda, a citizen of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), came to India earlier this year on a student visa and was residing in Nalasopara near Mumbai.
Police stated that Linda intended to supply the drugs to a local buyer in Indore and may have visited the city previously for similar trafficking activities. An FIR has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations are ongoing.
