Adit Gopan Arrested in Chain-Snatching, Vehicle Theft Cases

Police recover Rs 5 lakh worth stolen property in Mangaluru

The Mangaluru East police have arrested Adit Gopan alias Muttu Krishna (32), a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in connection with multiple criminal cases involving chain-snatching and vehicle theft in Mangaluru and Udupi districts.

Police said the accused is involved in two chain-snatching cases and four vehicle theft cases registered at various police stations in the coastal region. Following his arrest, officers recovered stolen property worth approximately Rs 5 lakh, including four stolen two-wheelers, from his possession.

Investigators said Adit Gopan operated across district borders, targeting unsuspecting victims and using stolen two-wheelers to carry out his crimes. His movements and previous criminal activities are now being verified to determine if he is linked to additional offences.

The accused has been produced before a court and further investigation is underway to trace other possible accomplices and recover remaining stolen property, police added.
