Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (WOIO) – Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for 56-year-old Adam Sager, a former board member and attorney for the Carousel at Pottstown nonprofit, who is accused of embezzling $300,000 from the organization.

The Carousel at Pottstown, which oversees the historic carousel, reported the theft in February 2025 after board members discovered the missing funds. An investigation led by Montgomery County detectives revealed that the theft took place in 2019.

According to officials, on June 28, 2019, a civil judgment ordered Sager and a co-defendant to pay $451,000 to Total Rental. Around that time, the nonprofit board approved a major renovation of the carousel, deciding to seek private donations for the project. Sager volunteered to reach out to local philanthropist Barry Sankey for donations and simultaneously arranged a $300,000 line of credit loan for the nonprofit.

However, authorities claim Sager submitted fraudulent board minutes, which falsely indicated that the board had approved the loan. Sager is now facing several felony charges in connection with the theft.
