PITTSBURG, CA – A routine traffic stop on the morning of September 14 led to the arrest of 36-year-old Adam Alexander Lew, a Pittsburg resident with a long criminal history involving theft, fraud, and drugs.
Officers pulled Lew over and discovered he was driving without a valid license. Visible in the driver’s door pocket was drug paraphernalia, prompting a full search of both Lew and the vehicle.
The search revealed:
Suspected narcotics
Additional drug paraphernalia
Counterfeit postal keys used to steal mail from mailboxes
Stolen checks, some already in the process of being forged
At least one of the checks was confirmed to have been stolen in mid-August in Folsom, according to investigators.
Lew was booked into jail on multiple charges, including:
Possession of stolen property
Forgery
Identity theft
Authorities say this case highlights the value of community cooperation and multi-agency collaboration in preventing and solving crime.
According to localcrimenews.com, Lew has been arrested numerous times since 2013 by law enforcement agencies in Antioch, Clayton, Concord, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, and others. His previous charges include:

Lew is currently being held at the West County Detention Facility on $95,000 bail, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 175 pounds.
