A 15-year-old boy fatally stabbed in north London has been named as Adam John Henry.
Police were called to Westbourne Road in Islington just after 1pm on Tuesday following reports of a stabbing. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and treated Adam at the scene, but he later died in hospital from his injuries.
Adam’s family, supported by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police, paid tribute to him in a statement, saying:
“Our beautiful son, Adam, was cruelly taken away from us on Tuesday afternoon. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. He had many interests and was always there with a smile and cheeky sense of humour. The beautiful memories we have of him can never be forgotten. We ask for privacy as a family to grieve and process this senseless tragedy together.”
Additional police patrols have been deployed in the area, particularly at times when children are travelling to and from school. Youth workers from Islington Council are also engaging with local young people to provide support.
A crime scene remains in place while forensic examinations continue. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are working urgently to establish the events that led to Adam’s death and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Officers have asked the public to refrain from speculation and allow them to carry out their investigation.
