Abhiraj Singh and his accomplice Rahul Kumar (alias Mota), both arrested for the murder of gangster Ravneet Singh (Sonu Mota), were presented in court today. The court granted the police three days of custody for further investigation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when Sonu Mota, who had several criminal cases against him, including charges of attempted murder and violations under the NDPS Act, was shot dead while returning from a shrine with his friend Angaddeep Singh in Kathiawala Bazaar.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jaspal Singh confirmed the arrest of the duo, who had fled to Dharamsala and later to Manali after the murder. They were eventually tracked and arrested by the police near Bhootnath Temple in Manali while attempting to flee towards Lahaul Spiti.
Police are still working to recover the pistol used in the crime and are investigating if there were any other individuals involved in the murder.
