CASCO, Maine (WGME) — A landlord in Casco is expected to survive after being stabbed by his tenant during a confrontation on Thursday.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fight and stabbing at 9 Evans Drive. Deputies said that 40-year-old Abdul Hamed Feroze, a tenant at the property, had an altercation with his 42-year-old landlord outside the home they share. The landlord and tenant live in separate areas of the house.
During the altercation, Feroze allegedly stabbed the landlord in the thigh, causing serious bleeding. Deputies quickly arrested Feroze at the scene and applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg to help stop the bleeding. The landlord was transported to Bridgton Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Feroze has been charged with elevated aggravated assault and is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
