Aaron Sinnott, Grace Lathrop Face Drug Charges After Sheldon Stop

Fentanyl, THC edibles, and paraphernalia found during traffic stop

SHELDON, Iowa — Two Omaha, Nebraska, residents are facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop around 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in Sheldon.

Aaron Michael Sinnott, 33, and Grace Elizabeth Lathrop, 26, were stopped in a 2021 Honda CR-V at the east Casey’s General Store, according to the Sheldon Police Department.

During the stop, officers discovered several pills that field-tested positive for fentanyl, along with THC-infused gummies, tinfoil strips with burnt residue, a Little Debbie box containing residue, baggies, a metal spoon, and a container of pills.

Lathrop was also allegedly in unlawful possession of a prescription for suboxone.

Both Sinnott and Lathrop were charged with:

First-offense possession of a controlled substance — fentanyl

First-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana

Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia

Additionally, Sinnott was cited for no valid driver’s license, and Lathrop faces an extra charge for unlawful possession of a prescription drug.
