Ponchatoula Man Arrested on 60 Counts of Child Pornography
PONCHATOULA — A Ponchatoula man has been arrested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force as part of an ongoing investigation into child exploitation.
Aaron Jiles, 32, was taken into custody and booked on 60 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
According to authorities, the investigation began last month when the ICAC unit detected child sexual abuse materials being uploaded to a social media platform. Detectives traced the activity to Jiles and secured a warrant for his arrest.
Jiles was apprehended last week, and a forensic analysis of his electronic devices led to the multiple charges now filed against him.
The operation is part of TPSO’s collaboration with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office and the broader ICAC Task Force, which coordinates with various local law enforcement agencies to target internet-based crimes against children.
TPSO extended its gratitude to the Ponchatoula Police Department for assisting in the investigation.
