Aaron James Alcala Arrested in Winston-Salem Bank Robbery

Suspect denied bond after Dec. 8 robbery incident

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department has arrested Aaron James Alcala, 31, in connection with a robbery reported on December 8 at 401 Knollwood Street, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to the location at approximately 4:20 p.m. after receiving reports that a suspect had entered the building, stolen money from a bank, and fled the scene. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident.

The investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Patrol Division, and ultimately led to Alcala’s arrest by the WSPD SWAT Team.

Alcala has been charged with felony robbery and appeared before a magistrate, where he was denied bond.
