Aalo Police Seizes 120 Grams of Heroin, Arrests Jomdar Ado

Major drug bust under "Operation Dawn 2.0" in Arunachal Pradesh

In a significant operation, the Aalo Police in West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, seized approximately 120 grams of suspected heroin, valued at Rs 6 lakh. This bust led to the arrest of Jomdar Ado, the accused. The seizure was made under Case No. 16/25, registered on March 10, 2025.

The operation was spearheaded by SI Likha John, the Investigating Officer, along with his team comprising SI Manthan Chithan, Ct Mikjum Dini, Ct Chau Lihita Khen, and the support of SI Lakhi Mena, the Officer-in-Charge of Aalo Police Station. The narcotics were cleverly concealed in 10 soap cases and 3 tobacco containers, discovered on March 13, 2025.

During questioning, the accused, Jomdar Ado, disclosed the location of the hidden contraband. Acting on this tip-off, the police team, accompanied by Town Magistrate Hento Riba and under the supervision of SP West Siang, Kardak Riba, swiftly raided the Hissam Colony graveyard area in Aalo. There, they recovered the illicit substances.

This operation is a major step in dismantling the drug network in West Siang district and is part of the ongoing “Operation Dawn 2.0”, a statewide anti-drug campaign led by Arunachal Pradesh’s DGP. SP Kardak Riba reiterated the police’s commitment to eradicating drug-related activities and ensuring a drug-free district through rigorous enforcement.
