Miami, FL (WSVN) – A Miami woman has been arrested on charges of armed robbery and grand theft after allegedly drugging and robbing a tourist following a night out, authorities said.
Aailiyah Lindsay, 29, of Sunrise, was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection with the October 27 incident involving a tourist from the United Kingdom.
According to police, the victim met Lindsay outside Club Space and agreed to take her back to his apartment after stopping at a liquor store. Surveillance footage showed them purchasing alcohol before heading to his residence on Bayshore Drive.
Once inside, the victim told investigators that Lindsay prepared him a drink, which he initially refused but eventually consumed. Moments later, he began feeling disoriented and saw Lindsay holding what appeared to be a knife.
Before he passed out, Lindsay reportedly told him, “I am sorry I have to do this to you.”
Hours later, the victim woke up to find his expensive watch and cash missing. His roommate also reported that a designer bag with personal belongings had been stolen.
A forensic analysis later linked Lindsay’s fingerprints to a bottle found in the victim’s room. Detectives also identified her from previous “bad date” robbery investigations.
Lindsay was arrested and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She now faces multiple charges, including armed robbery and grand theft.
