Belagavi: In a disturbing incident reported from Machche village in Belagavi taluk, a woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by pouring boiling oil on him, suspecting infidelity.
Police identified the victim as Subhash Patil (55), an LPG cylinder distributor. According to officials, Subhash returned home for lunch on Monday afternoon when a heated argument broke out between him and his wife, Vaishali, over allegations of an extramarital relationship.
In a moment of rage, Vaishali allegedly poured hot oil on Subhash’s head while she was cooking. Screaming in pain, Subhash reportedly jumped into a nearby water tank to escape the burning sensation.
He was immediately rushed to the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS), where doctors confirmed he sustained severe burn injuries to his head, face, and upper body.
The Belagavi Rural police registered a case of attempted murder and arrested Vaishali. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and motive behind the attack.
