Bareipali police arrested two individuals on Friday for possession of over 10 grams of brown sugar in the Milpada area. The accused have been identified as Ritik Chhachan (23) of Sikrapali under Sasan police station and Gopal Bhorasagar (22) of Dhankauda under Sadar police station.
Police said the duo had come under suspicion due to their unusual movements in the area. On Thursday afternoon, they were intercepted near a Hanuman temple in Milpada, where police recovered 10.4 grams of brown sugar, valued at around Rs1 lakh, from their possession.
During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed that they had procured the narcotics from West Bengal and other areas. Further investigation is underway to identify the source and any accomplices involved in the supply network.
