In a swift operation, the Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB) along with Dhantoli police arrested 36-year-old Umesh Ramteke, a resident of Chandramani Nagar, for possessing 51 grams of an MD (Mephedrone)-like substance near the NMC Railway underpass in Nagpur.
During the search, authorities also seized a mobile phone, bringing the total estimated value of the recovered items to approximately Rs2.65 lakh. The arrest was made after a joint patrolling team noticed Ramteke behaving suspiciously. The team was led by Assistant PSI Vijay Kadu.
A case has been registered at Dhantoli police station under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Sumedh Kumar Jadhav, with further probe assigned to PSI Shivaji Tipurne of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force.
Officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing to identify potential links and sources of the narcotics.
