CHICAGO — A 47-year-old Chicago man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a gun at a 16-year-old, authorities said.
Dawon Thompson, 47, was charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance. Chicago police arrested him on Saturday in the 5000 block of W. Madison.
The incident occurred on Nov. 18 in the same area, when Thompson allegedly fired at the teenage victim. Fortunately, the 16-year-old was not struck or injured during the shooting.
Thompson is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
