GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Three Gainesville men are facing federal charges following the latest round of indictments announced by prosecutors, including a case involving a local bank robbery.
According to federal officials, Patrick Johnson has been indicted on charges of bank burglary and bank larceny. Gainesville Police said the charges stem from an incident in August, when Johnson allegedly threatened a Wells Fargo employee and demanded money. Investigators reported that the employee handed over approximately $1,500.
Johnson was arrested roughly seven minutes after the incident, police said. He was later transported to a hospital for a medical issue that authorities confirmed was unrelated to his arrest.
In separate cases, prosecutors also announced indictments against Stephen Jones, who is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and Tyrese Jones, who faces a charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Federal authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigations. The cases will proceed through federal court as prosecutors continue to pursue the charges.
