BAYBORO, NC — A Bayboro man, Derrick Willis, faces new drug charges after a narcotics investigation led authorities to discover cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia during a home visit last week.
Members of the Pamlico County Narcotics Unit, in cooperation with North Carolina Probation Officers, conducted the search on Nov. 18, 2025, at Willis’ residence on Lynchs Beach Road in Bayboro.
Investigators reportedly found approximately 7.67 grams of cocaine and marijuana, along with paraphernalia such as digital scales and plastic bags commonly used for packaging and distributing drugs.
Willis, currently on post-release supervision following a prior conviction for possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance, was taken before a magistrate who set a $50,000 secured bond. He remains in the Pamlico County Detention Center.
