PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WJAR) — A man was arrested and charged with domestic offenses following a stabbing incident in Pawtucket on Sunday night.
Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Gooding Street at around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and bleeding.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she continues to receive treatment. Officials said she is expected to survive.
At the scene, officers detained 48-year-old Ignacio Sanchez, who police say is responsible for the attack. Sanchez is now facing several domestic-related charges, and authorities noted that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The case remains under active review.
