In a crackdown on illegal hunting, Nawabganj Police have arrested seven individuals for allegedly killing a nilgai near Bhairo Baba Kachar area and using its meat for a party.
The arrested are:

Faiz Farooqi (29)
Athar Farooqi (29)
Mohd Mariz (19)
Sarwar Alam (34)
Mohd Nafees (48)
Gayasuddin (34)
All accused are residents of Hathagaon (Pratapgarh) and Mumbai.
During the operation, police seized several weapons and an SUV, including:
1 axe
4 knives
1 double-barrel rifle (0.12 bore) with 5 cartridges
2 crude bombs
The licensed rifle belonged to Azhar Seikh.
The accused have been booked under multiple provisions, including Section 325 of BNS, Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Act, Sections 4/25/27 of the Arms Act, and Sections 4/5 of the Explosives Act.
Police investigations are ongoing to ascertain any further connections and to ensure wildlife protection laws are strictly enforced.
