Police officers from the Economic Crime Suppression Division arrested Rybena Intachai, widely known as Nana Rybena, on Wednesday. The 45-year-old Thai actress faces charges of fraud and violating the Emergency Decree on Money Lending in connection with alleged illegal public lending activities.
Authorities detained her at her home in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong district after several victims filed formal complaints. Officials said more updates will be released as the case develops.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) later posted an urgent notice on its official Facebook page announcing the arrest, stating:
“Urgent!! CIB arrests female actress N.N. R.B.N. this morning on charges of fraudulent public lending. Follow the live broadcast here.”
Before the arrest, social media was flooded with speculation about a celebrity known only as “N.” who had reportedly defaulted on debts to close acquaintances—rumors suggesting losses reaching 400 million baht. Although the identity of “N.” had not been confirmed at the time, public attention quickly focused on Nana Rybena, a well-known television host, DJ, actress, and racing driver who also manages several businesses, including a barbershop, children’s clothing brand, and event organizing ventures.
Nana Rybena later issued a public statement acknowledging that she was the “N.” referenced in the rumors. She added that she could not discuss details due to the ongoing investigation and asked for the opportunity to continue working as the legal process unfolds.
