SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Lejon Mabon has been sentenced to over 40 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder during a home invasion robbery, officials said.
According to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Mabon, along with an unidentified accomplice, carried out a home invasion on October 14, 2021. During the incident, the victim was injured while his girlfriend slept nearby. The victim fired at Mabon, who sustained injuries but survived.
After fleeing the scene, Mabon was dropped off at a hospital. Authorities identified him as the suspect using DNA evidence and surveillance footage.
Mabon was convicted of attempted murder on October 1. Prosecutors also confirmed that he was armed during the crime and that he had three prior strike convictions.
On November 21, he was sentenced to 41 years to life in prison, the DA’s office reported.
