Baramulla police on Friday arrested a suspected drug peddler in Tangmarg and recovered a charas-like substance from his possession as part of their ongoing anti-narcotics campaign in the district.
A police team from Police Station Tangmarg intercepted a suspicious individual at Drung Crossing during routine checking. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of 20 grams of a charas-like substance.
The accused has been identified as Rafiq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Majeed Mir, and a resident of Kampora, Tangmarg. He has been taken into custody at Police Station Tangmarg.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 73/2025 under relevant provisions of the law, and further investigation is underway.
