Two individuals, including a Hopkinsville resident, were arrested in Madisonville after an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking. The investigation was conducted by the Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice Narcotics Unit, Kentucky State Police, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration beginning in September, focusing on alleged drug activity involving Stacey Dillard of Hopkinsville.
The investigation led officers to a traffic stop on Monday at a gas station on Anton Road in Madisonville. Inside the vehicle were Dillard, Destiny White of Madisonville, and a small infant. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered roughly one pound of crystal methamphetamine located just 18 inches from the child. The Department of Child-Based Services responded to the scene to assist with the infant and two additional children who live with Dillard and White.
Authorities then executed a search warrant at a residence on Brown Road, where they allegedly found additional methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a large sum of U.S. currency, and suspected fentanyl.
Dillard and White were arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
