BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — A Tri County Tech instructor was arrested after a student reported an alleged inappropriate relationship with the instructor.
Sean Edwards, a Firefighter/EMT instructor at Tri County Tech, was taken into custody and charged with sexual battery and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Authorities said a student approached the school resource officer with concerns about Edwards’ relationship with a high school student. The student submitted a written statement alleging Edwards and the victim had been kissing, touching, spending time alone on campus, and attending off-campus events together.
Police stated that the relationship appeared to have been ongoing for several months. Following the complaint, a search warrant was executed on both Edwards’ and the victim’s phones. Investigators found communications supporting the claims and child sexual abuse material on Edwards’ device.
The Bartlesville Police Department confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing. Edwards has been released on bond and is scheduled to return to court in December.
