Douglas Lanning Arrested for Arson in Lyons, NY

Man charged after fire at vacant, condemned home

LYONS, N.Y. — A Manchester man has been arrested following an investigation into a fire at a vacant home in Wayne County.

Fire crews responded to 65 Geneva Street on November 17 after reports of a structure fire at a residence that had previously been condemned.

The New York State Police said investigators found no accidental ignition sources at the scene. After further investigation, 56-year-old Douglas J. Lanning II was identified as a suspect and arrested on November 23.

Lanning was formally charged with arson in the third degree and has been transported to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment in CAP court.
