Police have solved the murder case of Veerpal Kaur, a married woman found dead in a guest house under the Division B Police Station jurisdiction on November 15.
Authorities have arrested Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Punia village, Tarn Taran, in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that the victim had been in a live-in relationship with Gurmeet, who is also a relative.
According to Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, preliminary probes suggest that Gurmeet strangled Veerpal Kaur with her dupatta at the guest house and then fled the scene.
Police stated that Gurmeet allegedly became suspicious that the victim had relationships with other men, which prompted him to commit the murder. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
