DUPLIN & NEW HANOVER COUNTIES, N.C. — A months-long narcotics investigation led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs and firearms across Duplin and New Hanover counties.
The investigation involved the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division, New Hanover County Vice & Narcotics Division, and the Wilmington Police Department.
Authorities targeted the activities of Marqueice Graham, Jewelyus McCall, Troy Givens (New Hanover County), and Deremus Careem Plange, Keavon Marquise Newkirk-Murphy, Da Shawn Dove (Duplin County).
On Nov. 13, a search warrant executed on Iron Mine Road near Wallace resulted in the seizure of:
534 grams of fentanyl (19 ounces)
132 grams of crack cocaine (4.7 ounces)
Five firearms, including a Bushmaster .223, Mini Drako .762, Glock 19, Taurus .40, and Palmetto semi-automatic
Deremus Careem Plange faces multiple charges including trafficking opium/heroin and cocaine, conspiracy to traffick, and other narcotics offenses. He was held on a $150,000 secured bond.
Keavon Marquise Newkirk-Murphy faces similar charges and is held on a $190,000 secured bond.
Da Shawn Dove has outstanding warrants for multiple drug trafficking and firearm charges.
Authorities continue to pursue additional charges as the investigation progresses.
