Killen Man Christopher Atkinson Charged in Drug Bust

Lauderdale Task Force finds meth, marijuana, firearm

Authorities in Lauderdale County arrested a Killen man on Wednesday after a search warrant led to the discovery of meth, marijuana, and drug distribution materials.

Agents with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force executed the search at a home on the 700 block of Kentwood Drive in Killen. Inside, investigators found 10 grams of methamphetamine (ICE), a small amount of marijuana, and paraphernalia commonly used for distributing drugs.

The suspect, Christopher Joe Atkinson, 51, was taken into custody. He is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana, and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

Multiple agencies assisted in the operation, including the Florence Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office, and the Florence/Lauderdale Special Operations Team.
