Five individuals, including four Nepalese nationals, were arrested for attempting to travel to Moscow using fake documents. The four, Rajmani Chaudhary (27), Jai Singh Mahato (43), Anil Mahato (28), and Pratigya Magar (28), were intercepted at IGI Airport on December 30 while en route to Moscow via Tashkent on work visas, but without the mandatory Foreign Employment Permit (FEP) or No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Immigration officers discovered that the group possessed counterfeit Travel NOC certificates purportedly issued by the Nepal Embassy on November 16, 2024. Verification with the embassy confirmed that the documents were forged. Authorities stated that the individuals attempted to mislead officials to secure departure clearance using these fake NOCs.

Investigations revealed that the group had been persuaded by an agent, Rohit Chaudhary, through a network of friends, promising job placements abroad and arranging their travel. Each Nepalese national reportedly paid Rs 9 lakhs in cash to the agents. Dinesh (44), another accomplice and experienced ticketing agent, coordinated the tickets and fake NOCs. Both Rohit and Dinesh were arrested during the investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI), Usha Rangnani, stated that the scam exploited individuals seeking better livelihoods abroad, luring them with promises of overseas employment and facilitated travel. Authorities are continuing the investigation to trace the full extent of the network involved.
