A heated argument between friends over money and a personal remark turned deadly on Monday night when 25-year-old Harsh Gupta was brutally attacked. Khajrana police arrested all four involved and recovered the iron rod used in the crime.
Khajrana police station in-charge Manoj Sendhav said Harsh was fatally struck by his friend Rishabh Mishra and three accomplices near Sai Kripa colony.
Harsh and Rishabh, both residents of Lasudia and colleagues in a private company in Scheme No 78, often spent time together. On Monday evening, a financial dispute and alleged inappropriate comments about Rishabh’s girlfriend triggered a violent confrontation. Rishabh, along with Vijendra (24) of Lasudia, Aditya Jat (24) of Tulsi Nagar, and Ritul Mishra (22) of Kanchan Vihar, allegedly attacked Harsh with an iron rod.
Harsh was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following a complaint from Harsh’s brother, Piyush Gupta, police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. CCTV footage, technical evidence, and informant leads helped identify and arrest all four accused. Authorities also seized the weapon and a scooter used in the attack.
Harsh Gupta, originally from Tata Nagar in Ratlam district, worked in a private firm in Indore. Rishabh Mishra (25) resides in Kanchan Vihar, and the other accused are Vijendra, Aditya Jat, and Ritul Mishra.
