STONEWOOD, W.Va. (WDTV) —
A traffic stop in Stonewood led to the arrest of 30-year-old Kayla Tallman after a police K-9 detected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana in her vehicle, according to the Nutter Fort Police Department.
Officers said Tallman was pulled over for towing a trailer with no registration plate. During the stop, the deputy deployed his K-9 partner, Gamma, to conduct a “free air” sniff around the vehicle.
Gamma alerted to the presence of drugs, prompting a search of the vehicle. Police then discovered two clear zip-lock bags — one containing 21.82 grams of marijuana and another with 63.36 grams of a methamphetamine/fentanyl mixture.
Tallman reportedly admitted ownership of the drugs and told officers she intended to sell them to pay her bills, authorities said.
She has been charged with drug conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute.
Tallman is currently being held at the North Central Regional Jail, with her bond set at $35,000.
