GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Two men are in custody following a traffic stop in Grand Forks on November 5, just before 9:30 p.m.
Officers initiated the stop for two passengers not wearing seatbelts. During the encounter, the passengers—Jamison Aure and Austin Bercier—appeared nervous, avoided eye contact, and clutched bags tightly on their laps.
Authorities reported a strong odor emanating from the vehicle, with a marijuana grinder and drugs visible in plain sight. A subsequent search uncovered:
A black and white bag containing methamphetamine
Numerous small designer baggies used for packaging narcotics
A digital scale with white residue
Over 110 grams of methamphetamine
4.1 grams of fentanyl
Over 33 grams of marijuana
$144 in cash
Bercier admitted ownership of the black and white bag and the other seized items. He also acknowledged using the scale to weigh fentanyl for personal use.
Bercier faces charges of possession with intent to manufacture/deliver fentanyl and marijuana. Aure was arrested due to an active warrant.
