Justin Pendleton Arrested for Payroll Fraud in Auburn

Man Charged with Grand Larceny and Record Falsification

AUBURN, N.Y. — Auburn Police have arrested 38-year-old Justin M. Pendleton of Port Byron following a fraud investigation that began earlier this year.

Police were called to 13 Chapel St. on July 11, 2025, regarding a report of fraud. The investigation revealed that Pendleton, employed as a peer support advocate at Nick’s Ride for inmates of the Cayuga County Jail, submitted fraudulent time sheets over approximately five months.

Pendleton allegedly received more than $2,800 in unauthorized pay during this period.

He has been charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, both felonies, and was taken to Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
