MOORHEAD, Minn. — A 30-year-old woman from Moorhead faces up to 40 years in prison after being charged with fentanyl drug charges and child endangerment.
Raven Elise Ware was charged on October 7 in Clay County District Court with first-degree drug sale, first-degree drug possession, and child endangerment. The charges follow a June 13 search warrant execution at an apartment on the 1000 block of 15th Avenue North.
Court documents show officers were conducting surveillance related to Ware’s boyfriend when he admitted there were likely drugs inside the apartment but blamed Ware. During the search, officers found multiple needles, measuring spoons, a scale, and a notebook documenting drug sales. Ware claimed ownership of the contraband and led officers to two bags of suspected fentanyl, totaling 49.75 grams.
Two children were present during the search, resulting in the child endangerment charge.
Ware has a prior conviction in 2019 in Ward County, North Dakota, for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine and heroin. She also has a pending felony case in Cass County for possession with intent to distribute an imitation controlled substance.
First-degree drug charges carry maximum sentences of 3-40 years in prison and fines up to $500,000. The child endangerment charge is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
Authorities said the investigation into Ware’s drug activities remains ongoing.
