Authorities in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, have apprehended a suspected drug peddler, Mukhtar Ahmad Rather, in a significant bust on Thursday. Rather was caught at Y Point Babareshi crossing carrying illegal contraband.
Police reported recovering 21 grams of a heroin-like substance along with a digital weighing machine from Rather’s possession. Officials noted that these seizures are vital in curbing the local drug trade.
Rather has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to uncover further details about the distribution network and related activities.
