Edward Massey Indicted in Springfield Shooting Case

Three Counts of Murder, Weapon, and Meth Charges Filed

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Edward Massey has been indicted by a grand jury on three counts of second-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a felon, and methamphetamine possession, following the July 19 shooting of ReKeea Jackson.

Massey was initially arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was indicted on August 20 and appeared in court on August 22 for arraignment, where he pleaded not guilty.

The case is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on September 22.
