Hyderabad’s Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW), in coordination with Masab Tank Police, arrested a drug peddler and seized drugs valued at Rs 12 lakh.
The accused, 28-year-old Ejaz Ahmed from Bangalore, Karnataka, works as a civil contractor. Police recovered 11 grams of MDMA, 35 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of OG, 15 Ecstasy pills, Rs 1,100 in cash, and a mobile phone. A case has been registered under various sections of the NDPS Act-1985.
Police revealed that Ejaz Ahmed, originally from Bihar and raised in Karnataka, began consuming drugs during the 2020 lockdown. Over time, his habit escalated, and he turned into a drug peddler.
DCP YVS Sudheendra stated, “Ejaz sourced MDMA, cocaine, OG, and Ecstasy pills from Nigerian suppliers through a Nigerian transporter based in Bangalore. He then sold these drugs at higher prices in Hyderabad and Bangalore to fund a lavish lifestyle.”
Ejaz reportedly received orders via WhatsApp and delivered drugs to customers in Hyderabad. Acting on credible intelligence, police apprehended him on October 31 along with the drugs.
The HNEW warns students and employees that drug consumption can lead to involvement in trafficking, posing serious threats to society and causing severe harm to families and communities.
