ELGIN, Texas — Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jowel Wallace in Elgin last month.
On September 30, around 3:30 a.m., police responded to a residence on Jefferson Cove and found Wallace dead from a gunshot wound. Earlier in the investigation, 17-year-old Jayden Sherrod was identified as a suspect and charged with first-degree murder.
Continuing the investigation, Elgin Police detectives, with assistance from the Travis County and Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Teams, executed simultaneous search and arrest warrants at 306 W. Alamo St. in Elgin and 312 Lacy Dr. in Bastrop County early Thursday morning.
During the operation, Aden Galindo, 18, and Jaycob Hernandez, 17, were arrested and charged with unlawful transfer of certain weapons, a state jail felony. Both were booked into Bastrop County Jail.
Authorities seized multiple firearms and related items, including:
5 handguns
4 AR-15 style rifles
3 semi-automatic shotguns
2 AK-style rifles
500 rounds of ammunition
8 high-capacity magazines
$4,300 in cash

The investigation remains active and continues in partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF).
