BRISTOL, Conn. (WFSB) — Police arrested two Waterbury residents and seized a large quantity of suspected narcotics following a traffic stop, authorities said.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Riverside Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, but the vehicle fled. Police deployed stop sticks, eventually disabling the vehicle. During the pursuit, the occupants threw a book bag out the window, which was later recovered.
The suspects, identified as Tyrek Middleton and Nigeria Minchenko, were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Authorities seized:
1,759 bags of suspected fentanyl
40 grams of cocaine
22 grams of crack cocaine
12 oxycodone pills
Over $2,100 in cash
Minchenko posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month. Middleton, who is on parole for prior narcotics convictions, was remanded into custody.
